KBS Academy houses a private K-3 Autistic Support program as well as a K-12 alternative placement program specializing in trauma assumed Applied Behavior Analysis. At KBS Academy, we believe that in order to do their best, students and staff must be Happy, Relaxed and Engaged. We strive to make sure the values of compassion-based ABA are evident in all we do. Our program focuses on building rapport with our students, maintaining their safety and dignity, and implementing interventions that are televisable and individualized to meet their academic, social and behavioral needs.

• A traditional academic schedule should be introduced following the student’s ability to demonstrate a functional form of communication, and we recognize that with each student that may look different.
• Along with a focus on academics, programming should include daily functional life skills such as toileting and eating allowing an increase to the student’s quality of life.
• The school should provide a safe, supportive, and challenging environment, with clear goals and high expectations for student achievement and conduct.

• Education is relationship-based and that students learn best when teachers understand the interests, motivations, and individual learning styles of each of their students.
